Welcome to the new INDISTR!

Ahh...it's good to have the new site up and running. It was much needed! I'll try and keep this short...but I love to reminisce. We launched back in January 2007, grew pretty quickly, artist started selling music and getting paid instantly the first launch week...the first day actually, if you want to get specific.... it was a pretty awesome thing to be a part of, but we we're a bit understaffed and didn't have the best growth plan in place...and the design could have been better! Fortunately this time around we've got a great head of marketing and operations, Kevin Hockin, a great design partner with Thought + Theory, and a clear vision and path for growth. We've still got a couple tweaks to do here and there, so if you have any thoughts don't hesitate to let us know!

Thanks to all those who have helped market, grow, develop, and support the site. And, of course, a huge thank you to the artist who choose or have choosen INDISTR for distribution of their music. We value the trust you place in us!!

Enjoy the site, search around a bit, throw some tags on a few artist, and buy it if you love it!

See you around!

Ben, what a fantastic redesign. This thing looks great from the public and administrative side alike. Three cheers for INDISTR.

Hey Josh!!! Long time no chat... I really appreciate your comments. And it's good to hear you dig the backend. We'll be working on a bunch of other little tweaks here and there... But again, many, many thanks for your insight.

The new design is spectacular only I feel a bit disappointed as I feel looking at things as a buyer to be quite confused. I think it was much easier to go on this site and have it more self explanatory as to registering with the old layout, but now I think the new design compromised the easy and fast registration for buyers. I like how it was separated with register as a music buyer or an artist. I look at it now and find it a hinderance I hate to admit. You don't see where to buy anywhwere on the page only add or share, which I think gives the buyer the impression this is just a music site for the listener. Then once you click add, your faced with the question ok what did that do because you have to scroll all the way to the top and find the cart whereas the cart and quantity should be next to a buy button with each album or track. Id love to hear your thoughts on this and hope this only helps. The big upside is to not have to log in to your personal e-mail to verify the account. that makes people more apt to register, otherwise its just another pain in the ass to enter in all this info and have to wait for that infamous e-mail verification, that is what I love about this site at the very least.
thanks mIke
